Very Slow RAM previews
Hi All,
Desperately need some help. I am working on a 10 minute project and have so far created 16 seconds of opening titles. I have several layers all crossing the screen at different depths on top of a floor set in 3D. I have a company logo as a nested composition, as it has a relection technique applied. There are two lighting effects and a camera. When I do previews it is painfully slow, we’re talking over 5 mintues to render the first 16 seconds. I have followed sevral tutorials with some complex effects but this is the first time I’ve seen it this bad. I have tried removing some of the more complex elements e.g. the pre-composited logo and the 3D floor, but it has only marginally improved. I am running the software on a Pentium 4 at 3.00Ghz and have recently installed a total of 4GB of RAM (I am aware that I need to make some changes to make use of all 4GB, but this issue was occuring with 2GB before the install).
Is the PC just too weak or am I just pushing it too hard.
Any help would be gratefully appreciated as I am struggling to even move objects around the screen without it slowing down.
Greg.
