Ok, I know my project has got quite big, but things are getting rediculous. I’ve heaps of pre comps an such, and things have slowed, but now when I simply create a new comp and place one layer of video, it takes literally around 20sec or more to bring up the frame. Every time I move along the timeline, it will take that long to find the next frame. I’ve had prjects this size before. So I’m not sure whats going on. I’m running 6.5 on a G5 with around 1500mg of ram.
In anycase, its happening in the most simplest comps such as I discribed.
    Any ideas???

    Cheers

Are there any Expressions or a lot of Parenting going on ?

If you have more than one comp window open, the synchronize preference can really slow things down. If you’re gettingthe spinning beachball a lot, that pref could be the culprit. I use a G5 at work and W2K at home and the Mac seems to have more trouble with the synchronize pref than I was use to so it took me a while to figure out what the problem was.

Make sure you have installed the 6.5.1 patch. There’s an acknowledged slow-down bug in 6.5 which is fixed with the patch.
