    Hello,

Although experienced with After effects I’m one of those people who ignored expressions for far too long! I now am beginning to realise their power but am struggling a little even with basic stuff. I think the following is a very basic expression, but despite my best efforts and forum searches on similar stuff I still haven’t cracked it.

I have multiple layers moving along the Z plane from the far distance to directly past the side of the camera. However, I now want those layers to “turn off” at a specific position (e.g when z=150).

I’ll also be making another similar timeline but on this one the layers will suddenly appear at that z position.

I feel like it’s a simple linear expression in the opacity box but I’ve not got it yet.

Oh, just to emphasise – I don’t want a fade, it has to go from 100 to 0 in one frame at that position.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, CreativeCow has been incredible help over the years.
