  • Very high resolution export codec 5760 1080 resolution

    HI

Im looking for a codec that will allow me to export and playback 1 video file with a resolution of 5760 1080 30p?

Im exporting a video for playback on a computer with 3 screens at 5760 1080 (3xHD) resolution.
My pc plays back 3 x HD, one on each screen, with no problem using an ATI eyefinity 5770.
But I really need them to stay 100% in sync so the only option on a budget is to play back one file with the above res.

    MPEG2 only allows 1920 1080
    H264 only allows 4096 1080

Is this a limitation of the codec or Premiere?
I can create a sequence at the above res no problem.

Is the the best forum for this question?

thanks a lot for your advice

Yes there is a limitation in Pr but you should be safely within it:

    https://blogs.adobe.com/premiereprotraining/2010/07/maximum_dimensions_in_premiere.html (c) Todd Kopriva

“The maximum frame size that can be imported for still images and movies is 256 megapixels, with a maximum dimension of 32,768 pixels in either direction.”

Not sure which codec to use for this though. Cineform?

I’m seeing the same problem on a sample project. Premiere works fine at 5760×1080 but output is a problem. Might I recommend a quarter res output? 2880 x540 and just double it on playback? Most (better than 95%) can’t tell the difference in scaled vs full video, and the system load will be 25% of the full res. Going though all the codecs I know, I do not know a one, besides uncompressed will do better than 4K res, and Uncompressed is going to take a huge RAID.
    Looking around…
    Theora
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Theora
Has a max resolution of 1Mx1M and might just do what you are looking for, but I have no experience beyond 4k.

I know this is a very old post, but I was wondering if you ever found a solution to this. I am currently trying to do this and adobe premiere does not seem to have changed to this day to allow exporting videos at this scale.

I ended up exporting at 3×720(720×3840) instead of 3×1080(1080×5760) but I would still like to know how to create a 1×3 1080 video if it is possible.

    Please let me know!

    Thanks!
