I have video of moving children taken in Mini DV format, the captured AVI files are distorted by horizontal lines, which I assume have something to do with interlacing, even though the film was taken in so called progressive scan mode. The lines only are seen when there are rapid movements, for example, the arms move. The lines are unsightly especially since they occur at the edges of the moving object/Is there any plugin that could ‘ reinterpolate ‘ these images since I assume there is adequate data within the video

DV is an interlaced format. There is nothing wrong with this. It will look perfectly fine when played on a TV.

You didn’t say what your target delivery device is. If it’s the internet, just render in a progressive format and Vegas will deinterlace the footage for you automatically (as long as you didn’t turn off the deinterlace method in the project properties).

    Thanks
The target device is a data projector, playing from a computer
I have converted the movie into a DVD, and tested the rendered films on a TV and you are right it looks better than when it was previewed in Vegas
When I am working in Vegas, Do I have to select ” reduce interlace flicker” for each event individually ( right click / properties) …?

    What does ‘ resample’ do…..

[Joseph Dezordi] “Do I have to select ” reduce interlace flicker” for each event individually ( right click / properties) …?”

No, that’s mostly for still images with thin lines that may flicker when interlaced. It’s not really needed for video.

[Joseph Dezordi] “What does ‘ resample’ do…..”

It resamples frames when your footage doesn’t match the frame rate of your project or render.
