I just purchased the new Vegas 10.
When I went to register, this came up which is not my name or address.
It’s almost like I’ve gotten someone elses purchase!
What the heck is going on?

Roger, this is indeed interesting. The information that populates these fields is already stored on your computer from prior registrations of software with Sony. The info is stored in your system’s registry. I suspect that if you did a search of your registry you would find this individual’s information lurking there. The main question is how in the world did it get there? I think that some additional investigation should definitely occur. It makes me a little concerned for my own system security when I see this kind of thing happening with software that I also own. If this happened to me I would be quite unhappy. Please let us know what you find out.

It bothers me a bit too. I have never had a copy of Vegas that wasn’t purchased from Vegas with my own name. I felt like I was buying someone elses copy when it came to that registration field.
I just typed over it with my name, etc. and it registered. I also have an account with Sony stating my other purchases.
    It’s really strange.
