  • Velocity Envelope + Fade In?

    Hey Peeps,

I have a track with a velocity envelope on it. I can’t figure out how to fade in or out with the track. When I hover my mouse over the corner of the clip, it doesn’t turn into the curve-handle like it normally does. If the velocity envelope isn’t there I can add the fade in easily, but with the velocity envelope I can’t figure out how to do it.

I notice that I can add a fade in, *THEN* add a velocity envelope. But I’ve already got 50+ clips with different velocities, so I need to be able to add a fade TO a clip with a velocity envelope. Any advice?

What version of Vegas are you using because I cannot reproduce this in Vegas Pro 12.0. I added a Velocity envelope and then added a Fade-in with no problem. I did notice that if the Velocity envelope point is in the upper left or upper right corner, it covers the Fade handles so you have to temporarily move it out of the way to grab the Fade handle. Maybe that’s what you are experiencing?

Aha! That was far simpler than I thought. Thank you! 🙂

You’re welcome. I guess one of the those defaulted to being on top and the velocity envelope won. 😉

    FYI
In the Intro to SVP 12 Webinar Gary showed how you can select all 50 of those events and grab the fade handle on one to set all of them to the same, rather than setting the fade for each event individually.

    Hi morning sir,

I use velocity for fast motion at 100% but its not enough the speed.how to increase the speed of the velocity.

    Thank You

Push the velocity line up to the top of the event for a 300% speed increase. If this isn’t enough, right-click the event, select Properties and change the Playback rate to 4.000 for another 400% speed increase for a total of 1200%.
Remember to adjust the length of the event so that it doesn’t repeat itself. Look for the first small dip (looks like a V) in the top part of the video and drag the video event back to this mark.

And if after doing what Mike suggested still isn’t fast enough you can purchase the TimeWarp FasstApp and it can increase the speed up to 10000x.
