    Hi-
I am assistant editing a feature and the producers are overseas- so i am little on my own with this. Have to create a veiled box around subtitles, around the text, opacity of 33%. If there a filter in FCP to do this? Is there a standard method or template? This is for broadcast and on a tight deadline so any advice would be appriciated!
    thanks.

Have a look at this plugin from Digital Heaven:

    Wot he says!

DH Subtitle paid for itself within a few hours I reckon. It’s a no-brainer.

True, just remember to make it clear to your clients this type of subtitling is burned into the video. It is not user-switchable.

This is my standard sigfile so do not take it personally: “For crying out loud, read the freakin’ manual.”
