    Guys/gals

    I have a quick question about Vegas:

    I am shooting a clip at 1920×1080. In Sony Vegas I use the original resolution as my project property then I zoom/pan option to zoom in a certain area. At the end, I’ll export the clip using MC mpeg2 to SD 720x 480 resolutions.

    What is going on behind the scene?:

    1) Would Vegas resizes (to 720×480), then crop then resizes again back to 720×480?

    Or

    2) Vegas crops first, then resizes to 720×480?

    Obviously, (2) is significantly less lossy than (1). I did some very limited testing and it seems that Vegas is doing the first method (1) 
