    Vegas Workpath to Broadcast

    Hello kind CowFolk,

    I have been lurking on the forum for years, and owe many, many thanks for the advice I’ve found. I’m currently producing a magazine style sports show for broadcast, and I’m looking for even more advice on a workpath for best delivery quality given my equipment. Here’s the basics of what I’m using:

    Camera: HVX200A
    NLE: Sony Vegas 8/9 with Raylight Ultra
    Deck: Sony HVR-M25AU VCR
    Delivery Format: Full size DVCAM

    My question is, given that SD must be my delivery format, what’s the best production path as far as format from Camera – NLE – VCR given my current setup?

    nutshell: edit in the HD codec, then render out to the SD format required.

    others can give specifics.
