July 28, 2005 at 1:07 amGreat post Tim. I hope Sony looks at this forum regularly. We may need to email them a copy of your post on a monthly basis to keep some things in mind for Vegas 7. And yes, the last couple projects I ended up going back to Vegas to finish them in a timely manner. Unfortunately I learned Vegas first and am currently learning Avid Xpress HD and my AMD system does not seem to like playing the timeline in real time even without effects. I’ve gotten so many errors, I’ve decided I will learn it when I build a new dual-core Intel system.
I am by no means a professional editor but I have discovered a few things compared to Avid Xpress, from the little time I used that program like adding effects to clips is so much easier in Vegas. But as far as weaknesses the only one I can relate to is the print-to-tape directly from the timeline and a 3D titler(I use BluffTitler, nice and cheap). I didn’t realize what a great feature the print to tape was on the Canopus Storm(wish I hadn’t sold that card no).

April 24, 2010 at 11:01 pmSorry for being a bit late (5 years haha), but just found a topic about Sony Vegas’ replacing footage. Here you said there is none, but there is! It’s only hidden (slightly).
Go into “Project Media” find the footage there you wish to replace, right-click, and hit replace. It’s simple as.
I missed a couple of posts on here, so I apologise if someone has already stated it, or if I’m just stating the obvious; but when I found out, I was over the moon. Am using it now and will do for years to come!
