May 9, 2011 at 10:07 pmI have never seen the custom button greyed out in the render as window. Try setting your loop points to start and finish of the image sequence and see if it’s still that way.

May 9, 2011 at 10:12 pmJulius, you got further than I did.
I’ve tried to test this for you three times and each time it pops up an error reporting window as soon as I select “Image Sequence” in my render screen 🙁
This is with Pro 10.0d -

I wonder what quality setting is the default? Anyone else having this problem? Do I have to use older vegas to encode file sequences now.

May 10, 2011 at 10:36 amI just tried this in Pro 9 and got the same error message 🙁
I’m starting to think this is a Windows update bug and not a Vegas one.
I’ll be at work in a few hours, will try it on some machines there and report back what I find. -

May 10, 2011 at 12:54 pmMy machines at work function normally so the crashing is an issue specific to my home computer.
I tried an Image Sequence render here and the Custom option is disabled for all image types.
I think this is normal behaviour and it’s not available to us in any way, shape or form.Personally, I would use PNG as it’s a lossless format (in case you want to do any editing on the images) and can be batch converted to jpg afterwards using a free tool like IrfanView.

May 10, 2011 at 4:06 pmThanks, but it still strange as default quality for jpeg can be anything from 100 to 0, and there is no way to check it 🙁
If there is no way to change the quality it should be listed in program documentation which it isn’t.

May 10, 2011 at 4:34 pmWe should have a similar quality option with PNG files but, for whatever reason, Sony hasn’t given that to us so we have to work with what we’re given.

October 17, 2012 at 4:17 pmHave you reached to this option?
then you have to make sure to select the needed method of render so you can adjust the settings. -

October 17, 2012 at 6:39 pmI tried to find a JPEG quality option a while ago, but there doesn’t seem to be any control over the image sequence render quality.
In the internal preferences, there is a setting for “JPEG save quality” but that only affects snapshots of the preview window.
The Image sequence PNG output is lossless, so use that (or TIFF, also lossless) if you need maximum quality or transparency – good for titles or graphics.
