Gilles, I have seen similar ‘sliver’ problems with jpegs when doing my weddings.

    This is what I do:

Drop the jpeg on the time line, right click it, select properties and confirm that PAR = 1.000 on the media tab. I then go to Event Pan/Crop and select the Pre-set titled 16:9 Widescreen TV aspect ratio, and voila!, the slivers disappear.

I was able to reproduce this if I used 1080p video and project properties set to 1920×1080 and then used the Tools menu to burn a DVD. When I changed the project properties to be DVD Widescreen and then went back to the Pan/Crop tool on the jpg and selected match output aspect ratio, the crop changed size slightly and the extra pixels did not show up on the DVD when playing on the computer.

    Hi Mark,

Thanks a million… that did it!

I’m not sure why the dimensions of “widescreen” would be slightly diff from 1080i HD but nonetheless. I’m glad I didn’t have a myriad of jpgs and lower-thirds, would have taken some time to adapt the project for DVD burning.

Quick not for those reading this, Mark meant “DV Widescreen…” instead of “DVD Widescreen…”

Thanks again Mark and everyone else who helped 🙂

    Gilles
