When encoding stills from a Vegas timeline into DVD Architect
does the mpeg2 encoder encode the stills as single I-Frames
or as an mpeg2 video stream?

Reason I ask is, some authoring programs do convert
stills to I-Frames resulting in amazing capacities.
one frame might be 600k but look pristine, but if it
were video it would take up a bunch more room just like
    video.

I have a vendor who may well need this capability but I’d
rather do it from vegas because its so much easier and I don’t
have to deal with maintaining proper viewing ratio’s with
    different sized graphics.

If you encode to MPEG2 from Vegas, you will get an MPEG2 stream. I’ve not heard of anything that does what you are saying.

If you just want stills with music, you should just use the “slide show” default in DVD-A.

You won’t be able to do transitions, but it will save you a lot of render time. It depends on your need.
