I found that using the text the text media generator from within vegas is real bad. Am i supposed to set the resolution in the media generation box independantly to something higher. I am rendering for DVD Output. 720×576 Pal DV Widesreen format. But ive noticed no matter whichever font i use. ESpecially red. It bleeds color and has a very aliased edging to the text. Whereas on the same machine with 3ds max i get razor sharp text edges. Also technically since dvd is a scalable format. When you pause and even zoom into text in hollywood dvds. The edges of the text will blur but not pixellate. But ive fount that my text pixellates. Its not so obvious on causal viewing. But its bad. And if you zoom in. Oh god. Plz tell me what im doing wrong. Im sure such a powerful editor is not gonna stink in such a simple area.

Part of it could be the color you’re using. For example, you mention red – strong colors can be troublesome. Remember the colors go from 0-255 each. However, you need to keep them within 0-235 each.

When you’re talking zooming in, are you talking about in Vegas? Or on your TV? If you zoom in in Vegas, you will get what you are talking about. Instead, you should use LARGER text and zoom out. However, you can also set the size of the text box independently of the project.

    Dear Jedi,

I tried values lower than 230. Still Reds alone have jagged edges. If i just switch text color to white, it is proper. But back to red and even under 230, same jagged bleeding edges. ???. I tried the largest size for my requirement. Point size 42. Thats quite large. Theres no zooming in. I just have the text scrolling from top edge to the bottom of the screen. Like floaters. But the reds are bad. How would such a professional software have such a flaw ? I rendered full red in 3ds max. Same text comes out razor sharp.

It’s RED that’s the flaw. It’s a horrible color for DV.
