Vegas Quicktime Error?
Last week I was able to import .mov files from my camcorder without any issues into Vegas. Then suddenly I got this error:
The Sony QuickTime plug-in was not able to initialize the QuickTime components on your system. It appears that QuickTime for Windows is not properly installed.
QuickTime files cannot be read or written without a full installation of QuickTime version 7.1.6 or greater components, including the authoring components.I already tried uninstalling QT and reinstalling it, but it didn’t solve the problem.
I think the error lies in my system environment variables.Last week I had to install a compiler for my Comp Sci class, and I accidentally cleared the Path Variable in my environment variables. Does Vegas have any path variables I need to add to this?
Maybe if someone with a proper installation could paste their path variable here, it could help? (Start > Ctrl Panel > System > Advanced > Env Variables > Scroll down to PATH > Click edit > Copy+Paste the long string in the second box?)
^ Although I could be wrong and that might not be the source of the problem.
Thanks again! Please help, I have a project with plenty of mov clips which all aren’t appearing now because of this error.Much obliged,
Gabe
