Im running Sony Vegas 7 and have been trying hopelessly for the past few days to get it to work with my hd mov clips. We have about 50 clips of action sports from my camcorder that are in mov format, and whenever I try to drag one into the timeline on Vegas it says “An exception has occurred” If I hit details there will be a long list of what went wrong:

Any ideas on what I can do? I really don’t want to have to convert all these clips into some other format.

    Thanks!

Just scratching my head and thinking…….
Have you downloaded the latest version of quicktime?
And also what format eg=(component, animation, photo-jpeg),
are these HD mov files in?

You didn’t say what kind of HD camcorder it is but, if it’s a Panasonic of any kind (HVX200, DVCPRO HD), you’ll need Raylight from DV Film.

    Thanks for the reply.

To be honest im not sure exactly what type of mov it is, but i looked up my camera on the internet and found this- “Records video in H.264, MOV file format”

My camcorder is a DXG-566v HD.

    Cheers!

I googled the camcorder as well and found out that it’s very similar to the Aiptek Go-HD.
The only suggestion I can offer is to download the paid version of QuickTime Pro (it’s under $30 U.S.) and try Keith Kolbo’s conversion method.

    Figured something like that.
I second what Mike said….Go for Quicktime Pro.
