Hey, I have a problem with my Vegas. After I open it and want to start a new project, my clips and pictures do not show up. They are here, I can open my clips with Windows Media Player and also open the pictures. Just Vegas doesn’t “show” them. It’s like they’re missing in Vegas.

Maybe I should mention that I had some New Blue FX problems before and SV didn’t open anymore. It always stopped when it said “DirectX Audio Initializing…” So I had to do a system restore.
I have Windows 7 and you can do that very easily so my “system”‘s placed back 5 days. And Vegas opens again – but there are no clips, pictures anymore? Nothing! PLEASE HELP! I really want my Vegas back!

    Greets 🙂 S

    Hello,
do you have all the video codecks installed? (you said you had a system restore). This would be my 1st guess.

And what version of Vegas do you have? Other video sequences are working correctly? And last question – when making a New project – do you put all the options corretly? So then the project is ready for your type of video format.

What do you mean by saying nothing shows up?

    – what do you have on the timeline after drag-n-dropping a clip in it?
    – what do you have in the preview window
    – what do you have in the cutting windows (I don’t remember the exact name of this panel, and translate it from the French version… It’s a window where some users can temporarily edit a clip to set the start/end points)

Could you post a screenshot of what you get?

In addition to Codec problems as mentioned earlier, some users also reported the same kind of problems because the have muted all tracks, resulting to a black preview.

    Hope this helps,
    Frédéric
