I am working with someone who’s having some major vegas pro issues. They had some issues and ultimately I found that they did not have legit copies of the software installed. I ended up having them replace their desktop with a Core i7 Lenovo desktop with an nVidia Geforce K600 card (best card they were willing to buy for their use). Also, a new Vegas Pro 12 license was purchased with this.

The user first experienced issues editing files that are stored on their SAN storage. I had them move these locally when they work on the files so that there is not a bandwidth issue taking place. Now with it local they still experience the project crashing.

I haven’t seen the event viewer generate many logs except for:
“The nvidia opengl driver has encountered an out of memory error. This application might behave inconsistently and fail.”

This happened a few times at 8am but not again since and the issue has reoccurred throughout the day today. What else can be checked? After seeing the above error I installed the latest geforce drivers but it persisted. Now I am not sure what I should be looking for.

I the NVIDIA card is causing the problem, try turning off GPU acceleration under Options | Preferences | Video. That might help stabilize things.

This worked perfectly. After disabling this and numerous tests the issue was resolved. There is another issue I am facing but I will create a new thread.

    Thank you!

Glad that gave you a work around.
