  • Vegas Pro: can render to a .m2v but cannot import .m2v

Seems like i can get Sony Vegas to render to a Mainconcept MPEG-2 with “save as separate elementary streams” ( .m2v ) set .
BUT when it comes to importing that same rendered file, it gets “An error occurred reading the file”

Architect pro 5 can read this rendered file. Just not vegas pro.

It does not seem logical, nor does it seem practical, as the rendered file can no longer be used by vegas pro.

Shouldnt u be able to import all sony-vegas rendered media?

One would hope that was the case but unfortunately it’s not. Vegas can render to formats that it can’t ingest. It’s a shame because I wanted to use my HD M2V file to render my DVD MPEG2 file but it can’t be done. 🙁
