vegas pro 9 slower than 8

Yes, Vegas 8 is faster than 9. I posted this some time back, and I never saw a response. I think the simple answer is that no one here knows why it is slower. For the time being, when I am working with HD, I do so in Vegas 8. I do use Vegas 9 for SD.

Do you use Intensity Pro? How do you monitor your output from the time line?

I was looking at frames per second while in preview(auto) mode. I do not use any third party products which would hopelessly muddle the results. I did not look at rendering time at all. The only thing that matters to me is the ability to see how the timeline is working when I am editing the video.
