June 14, 2008 at 4:47 pmIs this an HD project? Give us some more details on your project (what type of media, etc.)
In the meantime, here are a few suggestions that have helped me out when getting crashes working on HDV projects:
1) Set RAM Preview to 0
2) In project media set to “list” instead of “thumbnail”
3) Use Veggie Toolkit to render your .VEG w/o opening Vegas:https://www.peachrock.com/software/VeggieToolkit3/veggie-toolkit.html
There seems to be some sort of memory problem in Vegas 8. Hopefully that will help you get your render done.

June 17, 2008 at 7:43 pmI did all the suggestions people told me about. And installed XP pro sp 3. Seems to have made Vegas more stable. Also started running Glart utilities memory manager and all the fixes seemed to help but I’m not sure which one did the trick..

If you mean your render presets, all of the custom rendering templates are in:
C:\Documents and Settings\
\Application Data\Sony\File Templates Where
is your windows account name. Thanks to John Rofrano for this tip 🙂

September 1, 2008 at 6:08 pmI signed up to this forum just to thank you for the info in this thread.
I was have the same render problems in Vegas 8b…and was stressing. I just got a new Quad core computer with 6 RAM, how can this be? Searching for a solution I found this.
Anyhow, I just uninstalled 8b…went back to 8a and now I’m rendering like a champ.
Thanks, Wade.
