Vegas Pro 8 can’t read an avi with a wmv3 fourcc
Ok, so I downloaded a few files that are .avi. The fourcc is WMV3. When I searched I saw something about wmv3 being wmv 9 or something like that. I can view it on wmp but Vegas just won’t play the video file. If I change the fourcc to something Vegas can read, like XviD then the thumbnail for the video is green and vegas reads the video but when it plays it’s just black, nothing there.

Sometimes when these odd little clips bother me…i use
a free and versatile encoder called “Super” to convert
them into a format that Vegas reads easily.Give it a try.
