See where it lists the fault module, in the System32 folder? That’s for the ATI video card drivers.

Was Vegas working previously? Have you recently changed your GPU without uninstalling the old drivers?

Download the latest drivers for your video card and you should be good to go.

Vegas worked a while back. I just recently opened, and received that message. Anyways, the only thing I remember doing BEFORE opening vegas for the first time in a while was updating the graphics card. I tried updating the latest drivers ( I think, really stupid person working a computer here) and my monitor went black and wouldn’t display anything, all it said was the monitor was set to hold 60hz and 1980 by something ( I forgot). Long story short, I have no idea what the heck I’m doing. If you could give me step by step instruction on what to do, I’d be in debt forever. I’m this desperate for help….

Conrad, that is a Build that is at least a year old. Vegas is now up to Build 444. SCS has an old build Net Notify that could be kicking you out, it shouldn’t, but maybe in your case it is. Would you consider getting the latest Build? What you could try is the FACTORY Reset holding Ctrl+Shift as you boot-up VP13.

Also Conrad – I’m now remembering this START UP issue. This for the subsequent Build 310:

    @Notable fixes/changes in version 13.0 (build 310)

Fixed a bug that caused a crash during startup when loading some older third-party plug-ins (including CineForm CFHD, NewBlue Titler 1 & 2, and Camtasia).
Fixed a bug that prevented some third-party application extensions based on older .NET frameworks from loading correctly.
Fixed a bug that could cause an exception error when exiting Vegas.
Fixed a bug that could cause an error when importing projects using File > Import.
Fixed a bug that caused an error when using File > Import to import a DaVinci Resolve project if metadata was missing.
Fixed a bug that prevented Vegas Pro from starting when using the Register Later method during installation.
Fixed a bug that incorrectly offered a choice of English, French, German, Japanese, and Spanish languages during installation and exposed incomplete translations in the Vegas interface. Installing this update will revert existing localized Vegas Pro 13 installations to English

So, lots for you to consider. Build 290? Not so much . . . . If you had it starting back THEN and working, then you were fortunate. Others weren’t so lucky, as B310 came out rather quickly! Oh yes, the mention of the CARD issues? That was one of the other reported B290 a year ago.

I really hope this helps you?

    Grazie

What model of graphics card do you have? If you’re not sure, go into the Windows Device Manager and double-click the listing for Display Adapter.

OK, knowing that you are running the latest Build and you’re still crashing you need to now know you have a local system issue. Audit your hard drive for free space; testing of RAM and GPU RAM failure. Have you look inside the PC for presents of dust and the clogging of cooling air ways?

I don’t know what else I can add?

    Grazie

Here’s the link to download the latest drivers for your video card. Just select your card and choose what OS you’re running. Download the executable and run it:

Thanks Dave. Now we know that the VP Build is recent, having recent/newest GPU drivers should cure the crashing.
