Vegas Pro 13 – The system is low on memory

I don’t know how to check system resources in Windows 8 (msconfig in Win7). My first logical guess is that on system startup you have a bunch of applications that are starting up, like antivirus software, for example.

There should be no program, except your antivirus, that should start running at system startup. These will use system resources and can lead to memory errors, since you only have 8gb.

Just make sure you have nothing else running in the background.
If there is, its whats hogging all your memory.

Thx for your response, but only the antivirus system is running at start up, and I see that there is a lot of free RAM. All programs are closed, my computer uses about 25% of RAM. No other program has that issue. I have Photoshop, After effects, Lightroom, Resolve… games like NFS Rivals and only Vegas has that problem…
Actually on my laptop with 4GB RAM and windows7 x64 i have Vegas Pro and it is runnig perfectly…
I just have no idea how to fix it 🙁

I have closed all of mu programs, my computer uses about 25% of RAM and Vegas still can’t run. On my laptop with 4GB RAM and windows 7 x64 Vegas Pro 13 works perfect… It makes no sense.

Seems then your windows 8.1 does not like Vegas at all.
Which build of Vegas 13 is this?

It’s build 373, I have also tryed 310, and Vegas Pro 12… It’s always the same error 🙁

Then it is something installed on that computer that is causing this
conflict with Vegas. Hard to be specific what it is not having it in
front of me… But i can guarantee it is something you have installed.

Ok, but how can i find out? And why the problem is only on Vegas Pro?

While it was written for Vegas 10, things haven’t changed that much so I suggest taking a look at it for some help.

I have a pc with that spec. (roughly) and it works just fine with SVP 13 (latest build).

Assuming you are in desktop mode, on the task bar, right click and select “Task Manager”. Once that is running, select the performance tab and there you can click on memory to see what’s going on. Once there you can click on “Open Resource Monitor” (at the bottom) and see where all your memory is going.

I have W8.1+ Professional Edition (things may be a little different if you only have a normal edition).
Also I have the very latest patches – I don’t know if you heard but patch Tuesday was botched last week so don’t rush to get those updates until MS publish the all clear.

mark
