August 19, 2015 at 10:44 pmEven better (also free), you can open a one line Avisynth script in Virtualdub, use the UT Video lossless codec, selecting the YUV422 BT.709 VCM preset and the resulting file should be identical to the orginal ProRes file. Rendering is pretty quick.

August 20, 2015 at 2:20 amI ended up using MPEG Streamclip as a workaround. I imported a clip, using the ‘Export to QT’ settings, I used the Avid DNxHD codec, changed the color space to RGB and rendered the file uncompressed. I was then able to drop the resulting clip in a track over my main video track in Vegas, and using track motion on the upper track and then picking ‘screen’ as the overlay method, which rendered the black background clear. These are mainly effects tracks like lighting, bokeh and flares that I’ll convert as I need to.

August 20, 2015 at 3:57 amGlad you found a solution. Avid DNxHD is a good digital intermediary codec to use.
