Vegas Pro 11…waiting for your comments!

Here’s my thread about my dissatisfaction with it so far. As soon as I finish my current project, I’m rolling back to Vegas 10. The GPU acceleration seems to be a joke. Multicamera editing or adding any 3D text or transitions makes the video stutter badly, and makes editing multicamera footage with lots of movement difficult. Actually seeing fine details of movement is impossible.

a problem expanding multitrack editing back to multitrack –
Vegas 11 VERY unresponsive – it took multiple clicking back and forth to get the option to expand multitrack – and the switching between cameras was extremely unresponsive – had to hit the camera numbers over and over to get it to switch – with either mouse on screen or useing keyboard number pad – same footage works great on my vegas 10??

well I purchased it yesterday but I still have not received an email with my serial numbers or the NewBlue Titler program. I don’t remember them being this slow before… Any one else?

The stabilize feature has changed, and it’s lost an option for functionality. In Vegas 10 I could apply it to a specific event as a sub clip. Vegas 11 is saying I can do that, but I’m not sure how. It’s probably there, but the ease with which I could stabilize a single clip is gone, and I’m still figuring out how to stabilize it without Vegas taking the time to stabilize about two hours of footage that this single event is taken from.

Edit: I have to create a subclip in the trimmer. It’s a pointless extra step after the ease of using the stabilizer on events in Vegas 10. Or right click and select “Create subclip”. But now, Vegas creates an error message at 99% of stabilizing the footage and never finishes. Great.

At first I was freaking out about how much they changed the “Render As…” screen, because I hate change and it looked less efficient than what I’m used to. It would be nice if they’d make the size of the list dynamic with the window size, but overall I’m getting used to it and view it as an improvement. The title options seem like a nice improvement. One thing I dislike is that the FX adjustment windows now use the same size/location as the event pan/crop window. I really benefit from those each using their own sizes so that’s a step in the wrong direction for me personally. Can’t wait to install it on my home PC where I can make use of my 560 GTX.

You should call Sony if you haven’t received your serial numbers yet. I got mine almost immediately after I purchased it.
