Vegas Pro 11 to AE 5.5
Hi guys, we used to be able to save an Avid legacy AAF file and send it out to AE with all cuts lined up. Is there a way to do this in pro 11, i’ve tried and EDL and an XML but none worked. Any ideas, script, anything please?

You can still save an AAF (modern or legacy) from Vegas 11… you just have to be using 32-bit Vegas. Why? I believe it’s because the Advanced Media Workflow Association has not release a 64-bit version of the AAF libraries (though some NLE makers have done their own).

Thanks for the reply, it seems to me that the purpose here is to keep it in vegas. I wonder why no 64bit AAF, that kinda sucks. For now though, im just gonna export a standard AVI or Quicktime, re-cut the edits and composite 🙁

There is a script that works with 64-bit Vegas into AE – basically it reads the txt file and then converts. It works!

Hope you find it useful – I joined this list because I’ve found this a great forum in the past, and struggled with finding a solution to AE import from Vegas 11. Now to learn how to get it back out!!

As long as you are replacing individual shots – just load them as takes in vegas. Then you can switch between versions to compare
