So there are a few presets/profiles built into the stabilization plugin in Vegas Pro 10. I love the plugin, find it very useful in small dosages… How can I make a custom profile for it? Ideally it would be this:

    Accuracy: Best
    Detect fast camera motion: unchecked
Motion to stabilize: Pan/Tilt and Roll
    Pan/tilt stabilization: 12
    Roll stabilization: 5
    Rolling shutter correction: checked

I want to make two profiles… One to deal with my GH2 (DSLR) and one for my HMC150 (3ccd cam). If anyone can help me do this it would be greatly appreciated!

You can’t. You would need to buy the full version of proDAD Mercalli which is the technology that Sony licensed for this plug-in. In fact, you could buy Mercalli V2 which has even better stabilization capability than the V1 technology that’s in Vegas Pro 10.

I just tried “stabilize” and it was ineffective, I preferred my original footage, even shaky compared to the heavy crop and lack of useful stabilization. Pro Dad 2 at $250 is a bit steep. Any other solutions?

Downloaded “virtualdub” & deshaker; they do work better than the included sony software, so now I’m doing this effect off the timeline, could not get Sony’s product to work within a project, though it worked when I set one clip in a new instance of VP11, weird.

Considering JR’s post about copyprotection and ProDad, I’ll continue learning how to best use deshaker and see how it goes.
