I’ve been using Vegas Pro 9 for a while, and have a lot of stock footage that doesn’t get re-rendered “Recompression not required” when I perform a render.

Vegas Pro 10 seems to want to recompress everything. I’ve even tried making a render, then trying to render it with the same results.

Any thoughts how to get around this? I’d rather not ‘upgrade’ to a product that adds a lot of time to my renders!

Make sure your Preferences/General/Enable no-recompress long-GOP rendering is checked. Let us know if this works for you. Danny Hays

There is a confirmed bug in Vegas Pro 10a that re-renders MPEG2 files that it shouldn’t. Sony is aware of this. If these are not MPEG2 files, please report this to Sony so they can fix it. Anything that smart-rendered in Vegas Pro 9.0 should smart-render in Vegas Pro 10 or else it’s a bug that needs to be reported if you expect it to get fixed.

Thank-you, they are MPEG2 files that are being recompressed.

Is there a link to the known bugs in Vegas Pro 10?

I found no bug list. Defaulted to posting in the Sony Forums for visibility, which is a pain in the a@# four step process to do if you have never posted before!

There is no bug list that I know of. There is only what you can glean from posts on various fora.
