I currently use Vegas Pro 10 and have Pro 11 but have not installed it yet. I’m editing with Windows XP 32 bit, but am considering upgrading to a new computer with Windows 7 64 bit. Will Vegas 10 run with a 64 bit OS? Will my Pro 11 I haven’t installed yet run with it?

Also, I’m concerned about my other software running with a new 64 bit system. Will my Adobe Elements work with this, or do I need to update it? What about other software?

    Thanks in advance!

[Don Smith] “Will Vegas 10 run with a 64 bit OS? “

Yes. Vegas has been 64-bit enabled since Vegas Pro 8.1. Long before Adobe and others even considered going 64-bit. Sony was a pioneer in that regard.

[Don Smith] “Will my Pro 11 I haven’t installed yet run with it?”

    Yes, I have Vegas Pro 9.0, 10.0, and 11.0 running side-by-side on my Windows 7 64-bit system.

Most software should work fine because Windows 7 64-bit supports 32-bit applications as well. I haven’t found any software that didn’t work from my Windows XP system except Ulead Cool 3D (which I use to use for 3D titles but now I use Boris BCC7 right in Vegas).

You should check your peripherals to make sure there are 64-bit drivers for them. While Windows 7 64-bit will run 32-bit applications, it requires 64-bit drivers for all sound cards, scanners, display adapters, etc.
