Vegas Plugin to glow text already present in video?

Here’s a method to try.
First of all, each page will have to be converted to an image as Vegas doesn’t recognize the PDF format.
My recommendation is PNG.
Photoshop can do this for you.
You’ll need to do some experimenting to determine the optimum DPI setting when you do the import as too low a setting will make the text blurry when you bring it into Vegas.

Place a Linear Black to Transparent Color Gradient on track 1 and the image on track 2.
You’ll need to experiment to determine the correct length for each page and enter this value into the length of the gradient.
Modify the gradient as follows.
Set point 1 to 90 degrees and a distance of -0.200
Set point 2 to 90 degrees and a distance of -0.100
Add a new point and set it to 90 degrees, a distance of 0.000 and set the Alpha channel value to 255.
This takes care of the first frame.
Now go to the last frame of the page and change the distance values to 0.600, 0.700 and 0.600 respectively.
Play the page and see if it’s what you want.

This assumes that you’re using an NTSC standard def image (720 x 480).
If it’s something different, the distance values may need to be changed.

This is exactly what I was looking for from last few months.
I am new to Video Editing.

the font size i used for text is 18 and 14 and i converted it to .tiff. I converted the pdf file to 720X480 pixels, 70PPI. The Image I get in video is not crystal clear, the text looks kinda blurry. I’ll try PNG tomorrow as you suggested.

Can you please suggest some settings of Image in Photoshop and Sony Vegas in more details. Such as what resolution should i choose for Input and output?

14 and 18 point type are pretty small for conversion purposes so I’d start with at least a 300 dpi setting when you import the files into Photoshop.
Save them in PNG format at as high a setting as possible.
Are you using Vegas Pro or one of the Movie Studio versions?

I am using Vegas Pro 10. According to your instructions, this is what i did:
– changed font size to 24 and image in photoshop to 300PPI.
– saved as .PNG without Interlace.

tried both 4:3 and 16:9 aspect Ratio. In 16:9 the text gets wider. If I do it in 4:3 it won’t fit widescreen TVs that are mostly used these days. I was thinking of outputting this video in HD quality. Is it worth it? or what would you suggest?

I am getting pretty decent quality video now. The only concern is that when transition takes place from one line to another, the whole page in video gets blurry sometime.

No matter which aspect ration you’re using, open the Pan/Crop window after thew image is on the timeline, right click in the middle of the image and choose “Match Output Aspect”.
You may have to zoom out to get the width of the page to fit.
Don’t worry about the height as you can do a tilt down on the page using the Pan/Crop window.

I selected Match Output Aspect. The problem now i am having is that the video screen gets blurry after effect on every 5 lines, then i pause the recording and it gets normal. Again, when i start it, after 5 lines the screen gets blurry.

is it too many transitions taking place or something i have to do with settings?

Again, here is how this Video works:
PNG image files of text on timeline. In Color Gradient lighten the line being pronounced, and then lighten the next line with recording.
