    Hi
is it possible to run vegas8 on a mac pro quad (=2 x quadcore 3.2ghz + 8gig ram) using bootcamp? i would need to run vista 64bit to use the 8gig ram ?

does anyone do this? as i understand it, these macs are the only 8 cpu machines out, so are the fastest. But, i love vegas over fcp…

If this will not work, what would be a good spec pc to get to run Vegas? I need to render at hd , probably 720i.

    thanks for any help

I’ve read numerous posts on a bunch of Vegas forums where folks are doing this every day and are quite happy with it.
If yo don’t want to invest in a Mac, build a PC based on the new Intel Core i7 chipset.
Render times are reported to be as much as twice as fast as a quad core.

you could run it if you had a hackintosh…Intel supported chipset…ie xbx2(bad axe 2) motherboard. There are more…( https://forum.insanelymac.com/lofiversion/index.php/t60144.html ) the bleeding edge usually is a pain (I figure the i7 fits this category)
