  Vegas not fully using CPU

  I encode a lot of 30 minute 720p videos using Vegas 8 Pro. I recently upgraded from an Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 (4 cores) to the new AMD Phenom II X6 1055T (6 cores). This should speed things up quite a bit. Unfortunately Vegas doesn’t seem to fully utilize the new processor.

  I usually use the 32bit version as the 64bit version has seemed a little buggy in the past. I noticed in the settings I could not raise maximum render threads above 4 which would explain the problem. However I opened up 8.1 and it seems to allow up to 16 render threads.

  This means that it should use all of my CPU. But even 8.1 didn’t help. My CPU use jumps between 30-60%. At least my PC can now be used at the same time I am encoding, but I would rather speed up the encode by using all 4 cores and 8.1 seems like it should be using all 6 cores.

  Anything I could be missing? Anyone else using a CPU with more than 4 threads? Help?
