Vegas not capturing audio
I’m currently using Vegas Pro 9 and capturing from a camera that I’ve captured from with no problems in the past through firewire (a Panasonic PV-GS320). Today for some reason the camera wasn’t showing up when I tried to connect it through firewire. I figured since the cable was cheap anyway that it had finally busted, or the connection with the camera was just bad since it felt pretty loose.
I had captured with USB from another computer but this was the first time I tried my current one(a Dell Studio XPS 8100 running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit). The camera shows up fine and I’m able to capture video, but no audio gets picked up. When I import the captured clip into the timeline the audio track is silent. I know the audio is on the tape because I can hear it through the camera. This is the first time this has happened to me and the first time I’ve used a USB connection, so I’m guessing it has to do with that but I have no real idea. Any help is appreciated.
