What format does the 5D Mark II produce? Perhaps you need to transcode them into something Vegas Movie Studio can edit easier. I would see if something like MPEG Streamclip can convert them for you.

    Hi Dale,

The 5dmk2 files are h.264 and Vegas can read them but it struggles with them. I convert them inside Vegas to MainConcept MPEG-2 with the same attributes (1920×1080 30fps progressive). Vegas handles the MPEG-2 files really well and they’re easy to edit.

To make the conversion easier, I use a batch region-naming script and a batch render script. I can start this going with a lot of files and it’s done overnight, with the new files having the same name as the original files. You may have to limit the number of h.264 files you put on the timeline at one time if Vegas crashes from the sheer quantity (although I’ve never had a problem when all I’m doing is a straight conversion/render).

The resulting files look good and can be burned directly to Blueray.

I end up buying Neo Scene from Cineform for 99 dollars and end up working in the AVI format…

This has fixed the problem, the video generated by the Mark II are amazing… I finally have a editing solution…

    Thanks for your advice
