vegas in windows on mac book pro
I’ve long held a dream of having only one computer at home instead of the PC/Mac, Hyde/Jekyll, existence of the past 7 years. Most of my Vegas projects happen at work on a high end PC, but I want to be able to use Vegas at home too. So I bought a Mac Book Pro and put Windows XP on the Boot Camp partition, and installed the windows software programs on an external HD to save space on my Mac HD. After a few tries all seems to be working fine, even Vegas, except for one thing. Every time Vegas starts up I get an error message that the Media library can’t start up. Vegas works anyway and this isn’t a big deal as I don’t use the media library, but I’m wondering if anyone else has installed Vegas on a Mac Book Pro and had the same experience or knows how to fix it.

I have this installed, and it’s a .Net problem; I’ve been told that it will work if properly installed and I’ve been told it won’t work even when properly installed. I’ve not taken the time to track it down, since I don’t use my MacBook Pro on our system network for rendering anyway. I guess I should spend a little time with it, maybe an answer isn’t that hard to find. Are you using Parallels too? Or just Bootcamp?Douglas Spotted Eagle

How nice to see you back here. I really enjoyed your article in Studio about the Grand Canyon shoot. We recently bought 2 Sony HVRV1U cameras for video production here in my shop at UW-Madison. They’re great.Back to book camp. No Parallels, just boot camp. Do you know what the “installation” issue is?
