I encounter this issue a lot that if I move an event up one track (using hotkey) it works fine, but if I press the hotkey twice it halts and sometimes crashes Vegas. I am not sure where all the extra processing comes from to go from one track to another, but it is really annoying. Does anyone else encounter the same issue? It seems to cause more of an issue with larger projects as is not an issue with smaller ones (Projects with less video/events on the timeline). Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

I don’t know the answer to your question because I do not use a hot key to make this kind of change. Instead, I have snapping enabled. This helps me in two ways. I can position the cursor on the time line to the beginning of an event and be sure that the cursor is precisely positioned. Then, I can simply drag the event up or down for as many tracks as I need, and the event will snap into place at the cursor location.

If such complexing issues occur for you, then avoid using those hotkeys.
Its not like there isn’t better alternative. I’ve never used hotkeys in Vegas
all my years editing and so i don’t know of a solution or if any exists.

Patient: “Doctor it hurts when I do this!”
    Doctor: “Then don’t do that!”

    Steve you crack me up.
