  • Vegas Error When Rendering mpeg-2 custom resolution

Good day, and thaks in advance for any help you can lend here.

I have a project for a client that needs to be 1360×768 for some monitors they use. I used After Effects to create the video but it is limited on mpeg-2 settings and does not allow custom resolutions. So, I use Vegas to render the final file in the correct package, etc.

But when I go to render with Vegas using mpeg-2 at 1360×768, I get an error.

To my knowledge, in the 5+ years I’ve used Vegas, I have never had this issue before. I have always been able to render out in any resolution I chose.

Any idea on why this is happening?

Using Windows 7 (RC) and Vegas 8.0b

It depends on the codec… MPEG2 will not allow this odd resolution. You must conform to one of the MPEG2 standard resolutions. HDV 1280×720 is as close as you can get with MPEG2.

You might want to use MPEG4 instead.
