Premiere has a feature where you can set aside a little area on the timeline, set up an edit, then capture that whole area as a ‘virtual clip’ (or something) and drag the virtual clip back into the main body of the program.

The slick part is, it’s dynamic: if you change the virtual clip, all the instances of the virtual clip also change. This is good for creating repetitive background elements/sequences, for example.

    Does VEGAS have this feature??

    Thanks.

Yea, these are called nested projects in Vegas. You just drag and drop a project into another project and the entire project behaves like a single piece of media. You can right-click on the event and open the nested project from within Vegas and it will immediately refresh the event on the timeline once you save it.

    Thanks for your response.

Weirdly, neither “nested”, “nesting”, or “nest” get any hits on the online help search. WTH?

This trial version is v10: is nesting new in v11?

‘Nesting’will give a hit in the help files. And nesting is already present ast least since version 6. But you are talking about version 11. Are you working woth movie Studio? Movie Studio has no nesting. To use nesting, you need the full version of Vegas.
