I am running Vegas Pro 8.1 on Vista XP 64

    Recently downloaded ashampoo registry cleaner…

I keep getting this error, followed by Vegas shutting down, I can no longer open it up without this happening.

    Sony Vegas Pro 8.1
    Version 8.1 (Build 171) 64-bit
    Exception 0xC0000005 (access violation) WRITE:0x0000000000000008 IP:0x0000000003CB89EA
    In Module ‘sfmarket2.dll’ at Address 0x0000000003C60000 + 0x00000000000589EA
    Thread: RefreshAlerts_Worker ID=0xA38 Stack=

I click ok and the program shuts down. Anyone experience this problem? What can I do to fix it? I tried reinstalling but same thing happens…

I did restart my computer and everything seems to be working fine now…very odd.

I would not use a registry cleaner. There have absolutely no way of knowing what is need and what isn’t other than looking for missing file references. On more than one occasion they have disabled several of my applications because it deleted entries that were needed. I now stay away from them. They are more trouble than they are worth.

You are right…I got rid of my registry cleaner as well. I think the program sees anything that ends in dll and destroys it.
