I am currently working on a full length feature in Vegas. I want to know what the best plug in to color correct is? (since edl does not work for stand alone software)I heard the scopes are not accurate in Vegas, So I always use a calibrated external monitor. Every one keeps insisting I use Final Cut and color… (UGH, no thank you!) I have the new MB Looks but it does not preview to external monitor so that’s out. Also how do you adjust the mids in Vegas.. Thanks for any advice on the subject. I love Vegas, and have been using it since Speed Razor Tanked..

I would use Levels, Color Corrector, & Color Curves in that order. Glenn Chan has a great Color Correction Tutorial on his web site. Glenn also teamed up with our own Douglas Spotted Eagle to create the VASST Absolute Training for Vegas+DVD, Vol. 4: Color Correction with Sony Vegas. which will take you step by step through the process using the tools that are built into Vegas.

I bought the color correction DVD and it is very useful. In fact I plan on watching it again soon as a refresher.

    I’ll second that recommendation.
It was one of the first VASST DVDs I bought and, IMO, is well worth the money.
