  Vegas Choppy when previewing MP4s

  Hi I have a Quad Core HP with Sony Vegas 9 installed. It plays AVCHDs no problem on the preview window off the timeline but when i try to preview an MP4 it gets choppy. Interestingly when i play the same MP4 on Windows Media Player it plays like a champ. But for some reason it plays on my Sony really crappy. Can anyone help me with this…thank you
