  • Vegas can’t handle variable bit audio?

Posted by John Riker on October 9, 2010 at 11:55 pm

I have a slew of video files I am trying to put onto Bluray. Using Vegas to convert them appropriately. Issue I am seeing is when the audio is CBR in the container the audio and video are the same length. When the audio is VBR it shows as longer in Vegas. If I play the file in WMP everything is cool. What is Vegas doing when it sees a variable bitrate audio file? Can’t it handle it properly?

    Thanks.

For certain formats, No. Just because you can mix and match different video and audio formats in a container doesn’t mean that Vegas supports all possible combinations. If CBR works, then use another program like AviDemux or VirtualDub to convert the audio to CBR.
