July 11, 2006 at 12:45 amNo problem – I often use an “ancient” 1.6 Ghx Vaio laptop with Vegas and external F/W HD, so anything faster will be even smoother.

July 11, 2006 at 1:21 amI recently bought a $1000 HP laptop off the shelf at an office store. I just wanted to be able to check email while on the road, and maybe edit some audio. I installed Vegas 6.0 just to see how horrible it would be, and… it is awesome. The laptop has become my main editing machine, and I only use my desktop for rendering.

July 11, 2006 at 11:05 pmI have a Dell Inspiron 600. 1.6 ghz. I edit HDV on it when my desktop is tied up rendereing large projects. It works great as long as I use an extrenal 7200 RPM Drive. Rendering takes a little longer then on my screaming desktop.
If I had to give up one of my PC’s, it would be my desktop.
