Vegas and DVDA3 – PSD import & dealing vob files
I am new to Vegas and DVD Architect. I have two primary questions. Let me start with DVD Architect. Following the manual’s instructions, I prepared a Photoshop file for my menu background. The PSD file has separate layers for all the frames, thumbnail masks, and highlights. Each layer has the appropriate name. DVD Architect does not import the graphics for the button.
I set the PSD file as the Background media; then select the background layer; but I have to manually select each button; DVD Architect does not automatically import all graphic elements in the right place. This scenario creates work when you update the original PSD file.
When previewing the DVD, the highlight is always on rather than when selected. Why? All button graphics were created in the same size, but DVD Architect renders my thumbnail mask smaller than my frame graphic. Why? How do you add a custom button or background to the relevant explorer pane?
My second question relates to Vegas. I need to bring a vob files into Vegas, edit some segments, and prepare it for export to DVD Architect. What is the least time consuming approach to re-encoding? Does one have to demux the audio or does Vegas perform this function? In the same project, I need to do the same for several QuickTime movies as well. Let me know if you could lead me to tutorial on achieving these goals. Remember Vegas and DVD Architect are completely new territory for me; and I need to get up to speed fast.
