Hey guys, i just got a few problems using Sony Vegas Pro 9.0/10.

    1. The software is loading very slow, which means i click a clip and it won’t jump there immediately.
    2. Its preview… sucks. the video can not preview well, it gets stuck always.
    3. The software is always not responding.

I also tired Vegas 7.0 and 8.0 in Window before, and that kind of problem i mention above, never happen. And now i’m using macbook Window… 9.0 doesn’t work good in my desktop window also. :S
Now i can not get 8.0 or 7.0 again 🙁

So, did you guys face this kind of problem? Is the macbook not good enough to support Vegas 9.0/10?

[Illusory Hathaway] ” Is the macbook not good enough to support Vegas 9.0/10?”

It depends… Are you editing SD or HD? How powerful is the CPU? How much memory? What OS are you running?

That Core i5 shouldn’t be too bad for HDV but if you are editing AVCHD you’ll need at least a Core i7 QuadCore. You could convert your HD footage to CineForm which should edit easier but that is a separate purchase.

Any info on why Sony Vegas Pro 10d 64 bit would stop responding during editing of SD/AVI and then 5 minutes latter start only to stop responding again 2 minutes later?

I have 2 hard drives setup with Sony Vegas Pro 10d.
    1.Windows XP Pro SP3 32 bit
    2.Windows 7 Professional 64 Bit

I use them on the same exact computer system but Windows 7 always, and I mean ALWAYS stops responding during multicam timeline editing. And sometimes during time line scrubbing. If I wait 5 minutes it starts again only to stop again.

The Windows XP Pro 32 bit OS with Sony Vegas Pro 10b 32 bit runs PERFECT and smooth as butter. I never get a crash or lock using XP.

Just on my windows 7 os.

Everything is a full clean install on brand new hard drives with all the latest updated drivers and patches.
I even ran Memtest as you suggested and my Ram tests 100% OK.

I’ve tried pretty much everything but editing on Windows 7 x64 with Sony Vegas Pro 10 is a worthless attempt. I just swapped my XP OS back in and it runs great.

I REALLY wanted to use Vegas Pro 10 64 bit to utilize Windows 7, more ram and faster rendering, but that is for not at this point.

Although Sony Vegas Pro 10 is the only (64 bit) software I’m running on Windows 7, I do have a dozen other software programs installed and they all run just fine under Windows 7 and my current configuration. Sony Vegas is the only one having issues.

I’m using the RAM that was suggested for use with the Intel I-5 but could it be the timing or type of ram I’m using in conjunction with a 64 bit application? It runs just fine under XP 32 bit.

    I’m using G.Skill RipJaws Cas Latency: 9
    Voltage: 1.5V
    Multi-channel Kit: Dual Channel Kit
    Timing: 9-9-9-24
    Model #: F3-10666CL9D-4GBRL

I have contracted tech support with no response, I have posted on different forums with no help.

Please, any ideas, suggestions, or help would be greatly appreciated!
