I’m rendering out an animated video with a jpeg logo at the end of the video. The logo is saved as a .jpeg at 1280 x 720 at 300 dpi. My render works fine until it gets the the jpeg at the end and it freezes. I have tried EVERYTHING. I’ve searched all on the forum and have tried every file type Vegas offers. I’ve even tried uncompressed avi’s no help.

The file DOES render out at 640 x 360. As soon as I try 1280 x 720 it dies.

Help me Obi Wan Kenobi, you’re my only hope.

    Thanks

[Rick Altizer] “Help me Obi Wan Kenobi, you’re my only hope.”

Use the force Rick. The force is within you.

If that doesn’t work, convert the JPEG file to PNG and try rendering again.

Added to what john said:..open up photoshop (who doesnt have photoshop)
Resize the logo, then save in png format or even psd format….and you are good to go.

    Impressive..most impressive… BUT YOU’RE NOT A JEDI YET!!!

I changed the jpeg to a png and put in the project. Actually I created a new project with just the logo png at the end with text. Total length is 10 seconds long. When I try to save at 1280 x 720 it hangs at 1%. 10 minutes and it’s still 1%.
I can save fine at 640 x 360 – but I need to figure this out because I’ve got to deliver 1280 x 720 on Monday.
Thanks so much for your help. I’ve uploaded a video but it’s taking a long time for it to be approved. I’ll put it up when it’s approved.

This doesn’t make any sense. Can you render any project at 1280×720 and have it complete? Can you render it at 1920×1080?

I’m wondering if it’s a memory problem with larger projects. How much memory do you have? What is your Dynamic RAM Preview in Vegas set to?

Sorry for not getting back. I figured out the problem. Perhaps it’s a bug in Vegas 9?

I was flying in a graphic and the graphic at the beginning of the fly in was off screen a bit. I moved the opening fly in graphic just to where it was barely off screen and it rendered fine.

Apparently, it doesn’t like it if you have a graphic fly in from too far away.

Thanks again for your responses and help. I wanted to post the solution in case anyone else was having the same problem.
