I am having a heck of a time with the current project I am working on. The footage rendered in Sony Vegas Pro 9 C looks terrible. It is full of lines and other artifacts. I can open the same footage in Vegas 8.0c and they look normal. Then to make matters more difficult, I am non having difficulties capturing footage. last nights capture produce choppy footage with poor quality and dropped frames. Even in Neo Scenes capture utility I was getting errors.
Here are my specs: Sony HVR-V1U (24 fps 1440 1080p), Red Rock Micro M2, Sony mini HD DV tapes, Dell PC with i7 processor, 8 gb ram, Vista, and no applications running in background (i.e. anti virus, etc.) I have been editing for about 5 years and the technical problems are never ending.
Thanks in advance for any advice.

Try re-installing vegas and see if the matter persists.
