Since upgrading to Vegas 9.0c, whenever I drop most graphic elements(jpeg, tiff, etc.) onto the timeline they don’t render. Sometimes I can see it in the preview, sometimes not. Also, the image on the timeline shows up as a red bar. If the image is real small, like 350kB, it’s ok. Larger graphic were never a problem before.

Which processor do you have, how many cores did you allocate to Vegas and how much RAM do you have?

Are you using AVCHD video on your timeline?
If so , this is a known problem and here’s Sony’s current response.

This is a known issue that occurs when combining AVCHD and certain still images on the timeline, and we’re working to correct it. We apologize for the inconvenience.

    In the meantime, workarounds include:
-Rendering still images to a video format (such as AVI)
-Rendering AVCHD footage to an intermediate format (such as AVI)
    -Working in 9.0b

I’ve got an Intel i7 @2.8ghz with 4 gigs of ram running on Windows 7 Pro 64 bit and Vegas 9.0c 64 bit. Not sure how many cores are “allocated” to Vegas, however all cores are utilized during rendering, 8 threads in the task manager running @100%.

I am editing in high def, but I never saw this problem until after I upgraded from 9.0 to 9.0c.

This is one of the many reasons a lot of folks are rolling back to 9.0b while they wait for 9.0d
If you don’t have it on your computer, you can get it here.
You’ll need to uninstall 9.0c first and then install 9.0b

    Ah very interesting,

I thought it was just me doing something stupid!! I’ve had the same issue with images – glad to know it is a software issue and not user error (yay me)

Oh well roll on 9.0D 🙂

    Thanks all,

    Mark.
